This is no messing around. These guys are going to lower those cement rings down a 5 m hole, go down the hole on a makeshift bamboo ladder and get those rings to balance perfectly on top of one another. This is to stabilize the well walls.
First you tie a 7m length rope to two opposing sides of the ring.
Next, you slowly lower it down the hole.
Check to make sure it’s going good.
Then do it again!
Final steps: fill in area around rings with earth.
Our extra finishing touches will be a bicycle pump (using a piston pump) pumping the well water into a natural biochar water filter to provide drinking water at the entrance of the land. We will definitely blog and add pictures when these additions are realized.
