We have begun plastering our walls and with the help of our many volunteers are nearly finished.
The Base Layer Plaster
The external earthbag walls have all been plastered leaving a nice consistent finish between the adobe and earthbag walls.
the Plaster Mix
We experimented with our blue-grey pure well clay mixed with sand and rice husk, as well as clay from a termite mound on our property. We are still experimenting trying to get the ratios just right.
We got three local cement experts to make the outside area’s cement floor. Here they are applying the base cement layer.
We will experiment with an adobe brick floor with cement laquer inside the roundhouse.
So to give the basic idea of where we are at right now, I am adding a few more pictures.
